Young Surrey Resolution

Resolution represents family lawyers who are committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. The members follow a Code of Practice that promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems. Members are encouraged to find solutions that consider the needs of the whole family - and in particular the best interests of any children.

Resolution is represented by local groups as well as a national committee. Young Surrey Resolution (YSR) is a subsidiary of Surrey Resolution and represents law students, trainees, legal executives, paralegals and newly qualified lawyers up to 5 years PQE, who either practise or have an interest in practising family law.

YSR hold approximately 6 events a year. Past events have included a talk by a local district judge on tips for advocacy, a seminar by a mediator and also a presentation by an esteemed set of London barristers.

YSR will be holding both a Summer and Christmas social event together with more seminars throughout the course of the year. Events organised will be posted on this website or alternatively please email samantha.jago@howell-jones.com for more information.

YSR and Resolution membership is open to family law solicitors, legal executives and paralegals. To be eligible you must complete a membership application form and confirm you abide by the Code of Practice.

Family justice professionals who support Resolution’s aims can become affiliate members. Affiliate status gives many benefits of membership and is also open to a wide range of related professionals such as independent financial advisers, mediators, guardians, family therapists, counsellors and students. To become an affiliate you need to complete an affiliate membership application form and be proposed by a Resolution member.
