Bishop of Guildford’s Annual Dinner with Jonathan Viera - Thursday 10th June 2010
Following the success of many previous annual dinners we are delighted that the internationally renowned opera singer Jonathan Veira has accepted an invitation to be this year’s after dinner speaker. The working title for his talk is “Certainty in a transient world”, taken from the title song of a CD he recently released.
Although known internationally as a bass baritone opera singer, Jonathan’s work encompasses a wide repertoire. He sings songs penned by Bob Dylan, Louis Armstrong and Coldplay and has also performed as the bass soloist in Britten's War Requiem and Beethoven's Choral Symphony. His comic talents and sharp wit have been used in writing scripts for sketches for television comedian Russ Abbott and he has also performed with Joanna Lumley in a three-man show.
As well as speaking we will be inviting Jonathan to sing a few numbers. It promises to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening to which you will be able to invite friends, clients and colleagues.
