Judi Dench in A Midsummer Night's Dream - SOLD OUT

18th February 2010

Unfortunately there are no tickets left for this event but we hope to organise other similar events in the future. The Sunday Times Culture Magazine rated this the No.1 unmissable theatre event for 2010 in its 100 Hottest Tickets review and we now have just 2 tickets left for SLS Members to see The Dream (as in Midsummer Night’s) on Thursday 18th February at the Rose Theatre in Kingston.

Judi Dench in A Midsummer Night's Dream - SOLD OUT

A Midsummer Night's Dream reunites Peter Hall and Judi Dench, an enduring theatrical partnership lasting some fifty years. Judi Dench first played Titania for Peter Hall with the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1962. Set in Elizabethan England, Peter Hall's new production sees Titania, the Fairy Queen, as a portrait of the ageing Queen Elizabeth I, fascinated with the theatre, besieged by courtiers but ‘married to the people of England'.

Predictably enough, and probably because Dame Judi is starring, the tickets are selling out fast but we have been able to reserve 20 tickets for an SLS outing. Seating will be in a block numbered AA & BB53-62, in the pit - seated at £28 each. As places are limited I will need payment up front…first come, first served.

For those that would like to eat beforehand we have also booked at Frere Jacques restaurant on the riverside, just around the corner from the theatre. We must sit down at 6:00 pm as we have to be seated at the theatre for 7:30pm. At a cost of £14:00 we are able to choose 2 courses (starter and main) from the ‘Rapide’ menu including a glass of wine.
