Thank you for taking the time to respond to the public consultation that we carried out concerning these proposals.  I am now writing to you to tell you of the outcome of the consultation.

We have carefully considered the responses that we received. As a result, we have made a number of changes from the original proposals. The key decisions we have taken are:

o        To retain Croydon office, in the existing accommodation.

o        To retain Peterborough office, in alternative accommodation.

o        To close Portsmouth office by February 2011 but to retain a small sub office, in alternative accommodation until 2013.

o        To close Stevenage and Tunbridge Wells by June 2011.

o        To move Land Registry Head Office from Lincoln’s Inn Fields, London to our Croydon office by March 2011.
