Course outline

The last couple of years have offered many challenges and risks to the Management Boards of law firms of all sizes and specialisms   For example: the economy, the implications of the Legal Services Act (LSA), rising costs of Professional Indemnity, etc., all of which test how consistently the firm manages itself and how deeply embedded any agreement actually is.

More and more firms have to address how they view risk management and its impact on their firm’s cots and activities.  Achieving a shift from managing risk as a function to a commercially risk aware culture can only be achieved if everyone in the firm is in agreement about what risks there are, the likelihood of them occurring, the behaviours that need to be adopted and the impact this can have on profits. This seminar will explore a number of aspects of risk, enabling delegates to build their own action plans:

  •           Achieving culture shifts, gaining buy-in and appropriate action.
  • ·         Working towards defensible risk management including approaches to quality policies and procedures,  Business Continuity
                       Planning (BCP), etc.;
  • ·         Developing a triage approach to implementation that saves time and money.

Standard: Intermediate/Advanced
